THE SIMS 3 CC MAGIC ADDED A CACHE FOLDER TO MOD FOLDER HOW TO
Still didn't figure out how CC Magic got booted though.which I guess is okay since I figured out how to work TSR Manager. I now know how TSR CC is loaded into the game. They all looked completely different and I edited the one on the "real" Sims 3 and.boom.

I didn't find anything at first, because I ignored the Mods folder thinking that all the mods folders would just have the same general mods and cc. I ended up going file by file throughout my folders (took FOREVER) to find any differences other than CC and installed content. I had already 2 other Sims 3 file folders, and each file folder acted different from the others when booting the game. Somehow, not sure how, The Resource.cfg in the mod folder got messed up. A reinstall of the game wouldn't have affected a thing except waste time. Thankfully I figured out what was causing the hubbub. UserPresets.package - Saved colors, patterns and textures WorldCaches - Cache files for your installed custom and Store towns. Screenshots - Photos taken in-game using the C key. SavedSims - Saved Sims that are in the SimBin Recorded Videos - Videos taken in-game using the V key. Library - Sims and lots that you've installed. Installed Worlds - Custom or Store Towns you have installed. Exports - Files you export from the Game via CAS or Edit Town and will have and will be in. DCCache - Contains all installed Custom Content/Exchange/Store items that you installed through the Launcher. DCBackup - for this file = ccmerged.package - Files related to the installed. Copy over these files and folders from your older folder. Load the game again and test with a new save to see if you still have issues. You shouldn't need to worry about about loosing anything, as all your saves, mods and custom content are in your older (renamed) Sims 3 folder. Load Sims 3 up to the main menu and exit the game. Right-click on the folder and select Rename.Īdd a number or a name. How I do it is I rename my Sims 3 folder. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone as they are trying to troubleshoot.īefore doing a completely uninstall/reinstall of the game, try creating a new Sims 3 folder and a new save as part of troubleshooting how things are working. If I take this out, it won't load the TSR CC. Scan "C:/Users/*Enter user name*/OneDrive/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Cache/Config/" PackedFile TSRLibrary/tsrarchive*.package I ended up not using CC Magic for my preferences, so I didn't add that, but I added this: cfg file doesn't include a directory for your CC Magic folder (that's in the mods folder) then it won't tell game to do anything with those files.

cfg file looks like when you install your mods file for the first time. Solution: If anyone else is reading this and having similar trouble, look at your resource.cfg file in your mods folder. I imagine it has something to do with overrides that I should probably figure out how to set. I actually prefer the TSR CC Manager, and you'd think that I'd be okay with the fact that I somehow broke/fixed things, but I'm not lol. The only thing I have done between now and yesterday, was download and install my store content items. I don't know what happened.but somehow I managed to fix the TSR CC Manager so that that content is showing up in my game now.but I broke the CC Magic content from showing up in the game.
